Conjugating regular verbs in the present tense is easy!
The ‘tricky’ part is getting from the infinitive (e.g. ‘werken’) to ‘ik’ (‘ik werk’)
I always divide the verbs in 4 ’rule groups’:
Group 1: e.g. werken, drinken, kijken = ik werk, ik drink, ik kijk
Group 2: e.g. bellen, zwemmen = ik bel, ik zwem
Group 3: e.g. wonen, spreken, kopen = ik woon, ik spreek, ik koop
Group 4: e.g. lezen, geven = ik lees, ik geef (z -> s – v -> f)
From there on it’s easy. Basically, you add a ‘t’ for the other singulars.
And for the plurals you use the infinitive.
